When we look for the definition of a rash the result is 'a change of the skin which affects its color, appearance or texture'. Rashes may affect only parts of the body or affect all the skin and they can cause the skin to become dry, itchy, blistered or cracked. There are several treatments for rashes because they can cause different symptoms. In this article we will identify the causes that trigger a rash and that way, target the root of the problem.
Causes for rashes
A rash can be caused by a psychological trigger, such as stress. Stress is affecting more people every day and it is one big cause of skin rashes. Because stress in not commonly related to a skin problem, the root cause of the problem is rarely treated. Stress can induce the immune system to release a biogenic amine called Histamine, which causes dilatation of the blood vessels and fluids leak at a higher rate and come in contact with the upper layer of the skin. The rash appears as a result of an excessive amount of fluid on the skin. Stress also makes skin problems such as Eczema and Psoriasis worse.
Allergies can also cause rashes. Some examples of allergic skin rashes are hives, eczema and Contact Dermatitis. Poeple with Eczema, for example, generally use a biological skin moisturizer to heal their condition.
Fungal rashes are caused when different germs come in contact with the skin, causing this type of rash. It affects people with diabetes or a weak immune system, people who perspire heavily, people who are unable to clean up by themselves or have lost mobility in some degree, among others.
The last type of rash we will mention is Friction Rash, which is caused when the skin is regularly rubbing against another part of the body or a synthetic material. This condition is worsened by moisture, such as sweat. It can occur anywhere in the body. People with overweight are very affected by this problem.
